OUR STORY

Rooted in Georgia, inspired by tradition

THE HEART OF SILVA

Silva was born from a deep love for the land and its people. The name — derived from the Latin word for "forest" — speaks to our belief that the best food begins with the earth. Every dish on our menu tells a story of Georgia's rich culinary heritage, from the coastal marshes to the rolling Blue Ridge foothills.

Opened in 2018, Silva quickly became Atlanta's gathering place — a restaurant where strangers become friends, celebrations feel warmer, and the simple act of sharing a meal becomes something extraordinary.

Our wood-burning hearth is the soul of our kitchen, a tradition that connects us to the elemental way of cooking — with fire, patience, and respect for ingredients sourced within a hundred miles of our front door.

JAMES HARRINGTON

Executive Chef & Partner

A Georgia native, Chef James Harrington grew up foraging pecans in his grandmother's backyard and learning the art of slow cooking from three generations of family cooks. After training at the Culinary Institute of America and stages through kitchens in Lyon, Copenhagen, and New York, he returned home with a mission: to elevate Southern cuisine without losing its soul.

His philosophy is rooted in simplicity and seasonality — letting the remarkable produce of Georgia speak for itself while applying the refined techniques he gathered around the world.

"Cooking is an act of generosity," he says. "Every plate we send out is a gift from this land to the person sitting at our table."
